NTA conducts AIEEA UG, AIEEA PG, and AIEEA Ph.D. separately to admit candidates in different degree courses in the field of agriculture. According to the pattern of ICAR exam 2020, the examination will be a computer-based format, and the time duration will be 2 hours and 30 minutes for UG courses. The duration for PG and Ph.D. courses will be 2 hours. Candidates are informed that for each wrong answer, one mark will be reduced in the entrance exam.

- There are three sections as opted by the candidate at the time of filling the online application, and all questions have equal weightage
- AIEEA UG 2020 consists of 150 questions.
- Total marks will be 600
- They are four marks awarded for each correct answer, and one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer
- No marks are awarded for un-attempted questions
- The combination of the subjects for PCB group (Physics Chemistry Biology), for PCM group (Physics Chemistry Maths), for PCA Group (Physics Chemistry Agriculture), and ACB group (Agriculture Biology Chemistry).

- Time duration is 2 hours
- There is a one question paper for each of the 20 significant subject-groups, which includes 150 MCQs each of 4 options
- There are ten cross-matching type questions, each having five sub-questions for every subject-group paper
- In each group, 120 MCQs are numbered respectively 1-150
- AIEEA PG consists of 480 marks.
- Each correct answer will be awarded as four marks
- One mark deducted for every wrong answer

ICAR AIEEA Ph.D. 2020 Exam pattern
- The time duration is 2 hours.
- Total questions will be 120 (Section A: 20, Section B: 50, Section C: 50)
- AIEEA Ph.D. 2020 consists of 480 marks in total
- There are three sections below.
Section A
- The first section is General Knowledge.
- It consists of 20 MCQs.
- Four marks will be given for each correct answer, and one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
- Maximum marks in the section will be 80
- The questions are related to General Knowledge in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Dairying, Fisheries, and Allied Sciences, etc.
Section B
- Core Group contains specialized subject opted by the candidate for Ph.D
- The section comprises 50 MCQs
- Maximum marks in the section will be 200
- Four marks will be given for each correct answer, and one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer
Section C
- It contains question from specialized subject opted by the candidate for Ph.D
- The question paper comprises 50 MCQs
- Maximum marks in the section will be 200
- For each correct answer, candidates are awarded four marks and a negative marking of 1.
